I warmly welcome you to the website of “Il Poggiolo ai Casini”. On the following pages I would like to not only offer you our vacation apartments, but I also wish to share my deep attachment to this little corner of the earth with you.

Since that day in August of 1995 when my father showed me his dream of his very own vineyard, I have lost my heart to this nearly 4 hectare large piece of land. It is a place where I experience peace of mind, where I feel at home even though I, as a German, am in a country that, in many respects, has a foreign culture to me. With this vision, my father turned this then run-down vineyard against all odds into a respectable wine property. Meanwhile my mother had the buildings restored with loving care and furnished the villa to a tasteful home. Il Poggiolo is a place with history and culture which present themselves discreetly. When my father was thinking about Il Poggiolo’s future, my heart spoke to me: In the year 2008 I took on the responsibility for Il Poggiolo with the vision to make it a place of peace and rest especially for people who, like me, are willing to lose their heart to this place.
